Before submitting
Only a copyright owner or an agent authorized to act for the owner should submit a copyright notice. Consider whether permission, a license, public-domain status, fair use, or another legal exception applies. Wayrovia cannot decide private ownership disputes and may request additional information.
A copyright notice must include
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list when one notice covers multiple works.
- Identification and location of the material to be removed, with enough information for Wayrovia to find it.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
Counter-notices
If your content was disabled after a copyright notice and you believe the action resulted from mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice. It must identify the removed material and its former location, include your contact information and signature, state under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was mistaken, consent to the appropriate federal court jurisdiction, and accept service of process from the original claimant or their agent.
Wayrovia may forward a complete counter-notice, including the contact information it contains, to the original claimant. Unless the claimant reports that it filed an action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement, eligible material may be restored no sooner than 10 and no later than 14 business days after receipt of a complete counter-notice, as applicable.
Repeat infringement
Wayrovia may restrict or terminate accounts of repeat or egregious infringers in appropriate circumstances. Decisions consider valid notices, counter-notices, reversals, account history, and the surrounding facts rather than treating every allegation as a final finding.
